Booking Appointments

We have an Appointments System. All consultations are by appointment which can be made by either telephoning the Surgery             on 458 2550 or calling in at Reception (note that you may not be able to be seen immediately and might have to return for you appointment).

You can book appointments up to 2 weeks ahead for a doctor.

However if you telephone the Surgery before 11am and you can get an appointment the same day (although we cannot guarantee which doctor will see you).

If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that it can be reallocated.

Please note that your appointment time you are given is the time you should arrive at the surgery.  The doctors will try to see you at the time you have been given but sometimes run late.  This is usually because they have had to deal with an emergency or give more than the usual time to another patient.  Don't forget that some time it might be you that needs that extra time with the doctor.

Telephone Appointments

The Doctors hold a telephone advice surgery from 12.00 every weekday.

If you need advice only, use 458 2550 and ask for a telephone appointment.

If the doctor has asked you to call for the results of a test or to phone and report how you are getting on (eg with a new medication) then you also need to use the telephone surgery for that (for safety reasons the receptionists are not able to give results over the telephone).

Home Visits during the day

Please try to come to the Surgery whenever possible. The range of clinical facilities is better and it means that more of the DoctorsÂ’ time is available for seeing you and other patients.

However, if you are too ill to attend Surgery and need a home visit please phone 458 2550. If possible, please ring before 11am as this enables the Doctors to plan their rounds.  Home visits are also available for those who are house bound.

Please be prepared to give brief details of the problem as it helps them to decide the degree of urgency. You may also be asked to give your telephone number.

Outside of Surgery Hours

For emergencies, there is always a Doctor on call phone 0845 1130004

If you phone 458 2550 - a recorded message will tell you how to contact a Doctor. Two telephone calls are necessary, so if you use a pay-phone, please have enough change ready.
